Dr Amoakowaa Sarfo Mensah, PharmD

As Chief Operating Officer of Avika White, Dr Amoakowaa Sarfo Mensah provides strategic and operational leadership to the organization in pursuit of its mission — delivering sustainable impact across health, education, food security, environment, economic growth, and justice. With a background in pharmacy, administration, entrepreneurship, and creative strategy, she combines scientific expertise with managerial acumen and digital innovation to drive efficiency, accountability, and measurable impact across programmes.

Dr Amoakowaa is a Registered Pharmacist with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, trained across leading health institutions including Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital. Her academic and clinical grounding spans oncology, internal medicine, pediatrics, maternal health, surgery, and emergency medicine, equipping her with a comprehensive perspective on healthcare delivery and systems strengthening. She also conducted research in antimicrobial resistance modulation under the Department of Pharmacognosy, further deepening her interest in pharmaceutical innovation and global health challenges.

In addition to her role at Avika White, Dr Amoakowaa serves as Head of Administration at Heritas Law, where she oversees operations, strategy execution, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the firm’s diverse practice areas are supported by robust organizational structures. She also plays active leadership roles in Nutmeg and Curry Ltd and Fragancia Ltd, while working with pharmaceutical companies across Ghana. Her vision includes establishing her own community pharmacy business and a pharmaceutical manufacturing company to strengthen local capacity.

Beyond pharmacy and administration, Dr Amoakowaa is a digital creator and strategist. She designed and currently manages the Avika White website, and her expertise spans web creation and design, social media marketing and management, brand development and management, label and logo design, product tags, and creative direction. She is also a content creator, producing impactful health, wellness, and lifestyle content for platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. Through her work in video editing, content creation, and production, she translates complex health and social issues into engaging, accessible, and visually compelling resources. Her creativity also extends to recipe development, blending her passion for food, wellness, and innovation.

Her upbringing in Ghana, shaped by early exposure to pharmacy through her father’s work, instilled in her a passion for healthcare, entrepreneurship, and service. At Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, she pursued a PharmD degree that refined not only her clinical knowledge but also her vision to bridge pharmacy practice with innovation, public health, and sustainable business models.

Fluent in English and Asante-Twi, and currently studying French, Dr Amoakowaa’s work reflects a dynamic balance between professional rigor and creative entrepreneurship. Her personal interests include cooking, fashion, digital design, and content creation — passions that complement her professional focus and underscore her versatility.
