Market of Hope: Bringing Breast Cancer Awareness and Free Screening to the Heart of Accra

ree

Breast cancer continues to be one of the most pressing health challenges for women in Ghana and across the world. While early detection significantly increases survival rates, many women remain unaware of the signs or cannot afford regular screenings. At Avika White, we believe that no woman should be denied the chance to protect her health simply because of barriers of cost or access.

This October 2025, we are proud to launch the Market of Hope: Breast Cancer Awareness & Free Screening — a unique outreach initiative that transforms a bustling community market in Accra into a hub of education, awareness, and healthcare.

Why Market of Hope?

The market is not just a place of trade; it is a heartbeat of community life. By meeting women and families where they are, the Market of Hope ensures that healthcare is accessible, stigma is broken, and knowledge is shared in a safe, supportive environment.

✔️ Free breast cancer screenings by professional health workers

✔️ Awareness talks on prevention, early detection, and treatment

✔️ Educational resources to take home and share with loved ones

The Bigger Picture

The Market of Hope is more than an event — it is a movement. It represents Avika White’s commitment to health equity, prevention, and the empowerment of women. When women are healthy, families and communities thrive.

How You Can Support

We cannot do this alone. The success of Market of Hope depends on the generosity of partners, sponsors, and volunteers.

Ways to get involved:

  • Partnership & Sponsorship – Corporate institutions, NGOs, and organizations can co-sponsor the event and support logistics, funding, or resources.

  • Donations – Every contribution helps provide free screenings, awareness materials, and follow-up care.

  • Volunteers – Students, health workers, and community members can sign up to serve and make the day impactful.

Join us this October in Accra. Be part of the movement. Be part of the hope.
